Aloe vera is a succulent whose inner leaf contains a clear, mucilaginous gel widely used in cosmetic products. In textured-hair formulas and DIY botanical treatments, aloe is valued primarily for its water-rich consistency, slip, and ability to contribute to a lightweight conditioning feel.
It appears in leave-ins, sprays, masks, gels, and scalp preparations. Although aloe is frequently promoted online as a hair-growth ingredient, its strongest established role in hair care is as a cosmetic and formulation ingredient rather than a clinically proven treatment for increasing hair growth.
