Moringa comes from Moringa oleifera, a tree used in food, traditional medicine, and cosmetics. Hair-care products may use moringa leaf extracts or moringa seed oil, which is particularly valued as an emollient ingredient. The oil contains a high proportion of oleic acid and is used in cosmetic formulations designed to lubricate, soften, and condition skin and hair.
Although moringa contains numerous antioxidant and bioactive compounds, claims that topical moringa directly stimulates human hair growth are not yet supported by strong clinical evidence.
