In this dictionary, Brahmi refers to Bacopa monnieri, a traditional Ayurvedic herb commonly incorporated into herbal oils, powders, and scalp-care formulas. Hair-care literature has described its use in cleansers, oils, powders, and botanical formulations, although direct human evidence demonstrating specific hair benefits is limited. Brahmi is therefore best understood as a traditional botanical ingredient rather than a proven hair-growth treatment.
The name can also cause confusion because gotu kola (Centella asiatica) is sometimes called Brahmi, so checking the botanical name on an ingredient label matters.
